Cunamh

Cunamh

Cunamh are a charity set up to help people aged 14 and upwards and under with eating issues. When I entered the building I felt very at home, everyone was friendly just as you'd expect from a place that wants to help you.  Through assessment your problem can be looked at and broken up.  Each week they work towards helping you.

CĂșnamh was established in 1997 as a community led mental health project. The organisation emerged from the opportunity created in 1994 as a result of the IRA ceasefire and subsequent political and social developments. This created a new environment and space in which for the first time individuals could commence a process of reflection, exploration and personal growth. These new hidden opportunities allowed for new methods of personal and community development to take shape.  Recently the charity received
funding from Children in Need to continue there excellent work.

I was oddly told that the Mens Action Network don't have someone that deals with Eating Disorders which was weird.

I was given a presentation that the group present to schools and community groups on Eating Disorders.

I was also given some leaflets and posters to hand out and put up in my University and to place around the town.
